I understand your feelings, and I go out of my way to spend time in nature daily because I feel the damage of being too in screenland, but when you say, "Strip all anonymity from it," the question is instantly, "Who is in charge of doing so?" And none of that stuff you listed, I think, is as bad as things like genocide. It's small fries. The Internet made the liberation of Tunisia in the Arab Spring possible. It cannot be overstated how powerful a tool it is for mass rebellion. New evil doesn't necessarily mean worst evil. I think you would feel very differently if you were a dissident in China relying on Signal, for example.
